Enjoy a deceptively simple but amazingly challenging experience of Mahjong in this Facebook Mahjong game. Go ahead and look for Mahjong Mania on the popular social networking website, click on Play Now, and you’re good to go.
Once the game loads, you simply start a game, after which you select one of three game modes: Easy, Normal and Hard.
The goal in the game is to simply get rid of all the Mahjong tiles in one level within a specific period of time. Before you say that this is very easy, take note that the time limit is a lot shorter than what you are used to in other games.
Specifically, you have about a minute (at least at the earlier levels) with which to finish the level. It may be higher in later levels, because of the number of tiles involved but not that long to make each level a breeze.
The game starts you off with around 8-10 pairs of tiles, and this number gradually grows with each level.
The mechanics are simple. You find identical pairs of tiles by clicking on each one of them. Identifying matches will remove the pairs from the board in an interesting animation that has the tiles joining together and then flying together towards the screen until they disappear.
Now, as you progress into the level, you can find tiles that are blocked by one another. Unless the tile is free on either side, it cannot be matched with its counterpart. Hence, you’ll have to remove the obstructing tiles in order to free that certain tile up. This should be part of your strategy.
All of this should be done within the span of time available to you. If you don’t finish pairing up all the tiles in the board before the time limit runs out, you’ll have to start over again.
All of the levels in Mahjong Mania are time trials. This means that you have to record a specific time in order to be awarded one of three trophies: Gold, Silver and Bronze.
You can identify which times will get you that specific trophy by looking at the time gauge. If you finish at the part that there is a trophy, it means that you are awarded that trophy for your effort
You might also finish the level before the gauge runs out but not qualify for the trophies. You still finish that level and unlock the next one, but you don’t get a trophy.
The game does not have any other extra perks, but you can post your time records on your Timeline for bragging rights, and to challenge your friends.
You can go back to each level to try and get a better record than your previous.
