The gameplay of Monkey Mahjong Connect requires players to clear mahjong tiles in order to complete levels. At the start of each level, you’ll be given a layout of tiles and your job is to clear them all in the given amount of time. If you fail to clear the tiles within the time limit, you’ll have to start the entire level over again. In order to clear tiles, all you have to do is click on two of the same tiles in succession and, if your match is correct, they’ll disappear. Each pair of matched tiles will give you points and this process is continued until a level is cleared.
One very important thing to keep in mind about matching tiles in Monkey Mahjong Connect is that you can’t match two tiles if they have multiple tiles in-between them. In order for a match to be possible, both tiles need to be placed in a way that a linear path can be drawn from one tile to the other without any other tiles in between. Due to this restriction, the gameplay becomes a lot more challenging so you won’t be able to breeze your way through the game.
Going into the visuals, Monkey Mahjong Connect isn’t pushing the genre to new heights but it’s still great to look at. The best thing about this game is how clean it is, the user-interface is sleek, the colors are vibrant and there’s no unnecessary clutter on the screen.
